Known as one of the most prolific and progressive restaurateurs in Charleston, Karalee Nielsen Fallert is motivated by identifying a need in the market, conceptualizing the solution and building a business to serve the community.

Driven by candor, innovation and success, Karalee has spent the last decade developing and operating popular local establishments including two Taco Boy locations, Monza, Closed for Business, The Royal American, Lee Lee’s Hot Kitchen & The Park Cafe. Karalee and her partners create unique, value oriented dining experiences with a focus on sustainability and local products.

Serving her community remains Karalee’s greatest passion and the driving force that keeps her motivated. In 2009, she founded the Green Heart project with the mission of teaching inner city youth core personal values through the power of fresh local food and hard work on urban micro farms.

When not planning her next culinary venture, Karalee spends her time surfing, traveling, and cooking. She and her husband are also currently building a farm on Edisto Island.
