Nicholas Bennett is Head Bartender at Porchlight, the first stand-alone cocktail bar by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. Located in West Chelsea, this New York bar with a Southern accent is the brainchild of CEO Danny Meyer and Porchlight Co-Founder/Managing Partner Mark Maynard-Parisi. Nicholas applies his decade of craft cocktail and advanced mixology skills to curate Porchlight’s inventive cocktail menu in collaboration with Mark and General Manager Michael Shain. As the Head Bartender, Nicholas works closely with Michael to train and manage Porchlight’s talented bar team. Previously, Nicholas was Head Bartender/Bar Captain at Booker and Dax, Chef David Chang’s Momofuku Ssäm Bar. The bar is at the forefront of utilizing technology, both new and vintage, to create unique and memorable cocktail experiences. Before joining Booker and Dax, Nicholas tended bar at Amor y Amargo, a renowned East Village watering hole, where he designed speciality cocktails celebrating bitters, amari and absinthe.
