Sean Fowler is a Raleigh native, who after years of working in some of the country’s top kitchens, returned home to open his debut restaurant, Mandolin, in 2011. Mandolin even has its own 4500 square foot garden, from which it harvests a bounty of seasonal produce. Sean earned a BA in history form Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA and then went on to earn a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado. He honed his craft in some of the premier restaurants in the country including The Inn at Erlowest, The Alpenhof Lodge, Le Bernardins, and most recently The Fearrington House in Pittsboro, North Carolina, where he met his wife Lizzy. Chef Fowler’s fresh take on Southern Cuisine, a commitment to local ingredients, and an award-winning wine list have quickly established Mandolin as one of the premier dining experiences in the area.
